Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join the Player – Transact Tribe, a team with organisation-wide impact and deep connections across multiple engineering areas. In this role, you will help shape systems that power critical functionality across the business and connect multiple engineering domains.</p>

<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Improve the existing platform to increase the amount of business functionality driven by end-user configuration</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Enhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deployment</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Build and enhance core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisation</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Build on the CloudNative platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliency</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Analyse complex system challenges and drive improvements to architecture, scalability, and platform efficiency</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Drive technical initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teams</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the wider business to understand and drive improvements across the platform</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency</li>

<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environment</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in an object-oriented or functional language</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Experience working with distributed systems</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Experience building and improving observability</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">A passion for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">A passion for working in the cloud and automation</li>
<li class="font-claude-response-body whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Familiarity with any of the following technologies: Golang, Erlang, or Elixir</li>
